Job DescriptionThe Biologics Commercial Supply Planning Senior coordinator will be responsible for executing key supply chain commercial and clinical activities for a late-stage biologic program. Vertex is rapidly expanding its portfolio and commercializing a pipeline of exciting new therapies. We are growing our capabilities to support the biologics commercial supply chain and manufacturing of these therapies.This role will be responsible for setting up and testing planning / execution systems and performing various supply planning and inventory management activities. The global supply chain planning activities also include testing and integrating processes and systems to deliver a best-in-class supply chain. This role will report to the Sr Director Biologics Commercial Supply Chain within the Supply Chain Management organization and the Biopharmaceutical Sciences and Manufacturing Operations (BSMO) division. The position is based at Vertex’s corporate headquarters in Boston, MA or could be remote.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Identify and define master data elements needed to successfully set up Oracle OPM and Maestro Rapid Response execution and planning system.Perform and test required master data setups at both Oracle OPM and Maestro Rapid Response to enable execution and planning activities.Coordinate and execute monthly inventory reconciliation activities using CMO and Oracle OPM data. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement optimal / efficient inventory reconciliation processes.Support supply planning processes, documentation, and implementation.Drive excellence in end-to-end operations through management of key supply chain KPI’s. Identify operational efficiency and continuous improvement opportunities across the supply chain to deliver a best-in-class supply chain.Build strong relationships with External Manufacturing, Quality, Finance and other functions, foster team culture and build trust with colleagues to deliver optimal and efficient supply planning processes.Champion the culture of quality and ensure that all activities and documentation comply with global regulatory requirements. Understand and implement processes and controls that align with evolving Health Authority regulatory expectations.Performs other duties as assigned.Experience, knowledge and skills:5+ years progressive experience in supply chain systems setup and processes implementation in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Biologics and injectable products.Experience managing and navigating a complex global supply chain network.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, often addressing novel/unusual situations and exercising judgement based on significant technical experience.Proven ability to innovate and implement practical, compliant solutions, work seamlessly across teams, and develop excellent partnerships with peers.Demonstrated understanding of the principles and regulations associated with Biologics or injectables supply chain operations.Sense of urgency to deliver quality results in a highly ethical and professional manner.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues and solutions.Excellent and reliable team player. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other functional areas, build, and sustain trust at all levels of the organization.Experience in Oracle ERP OPM master data setups.Flexibility and versatility as the Biologics Commercial supply chain team and business evolve.Education:Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business disciplineContract Length: Through the end of the year.Pay Range$38/hr. - $42/hr.Shift/HoursMonday - FridayRequisition DisclaimerThis job posting is for a temporary role with a third-party agency partner on assignment at Vertex Pharmaceuticals (“Vertex”).
