Ember, a fully remote and globally-focused nonprofit, is seeking a 6-month sickness cover (with possibility to extend) in our finance team to support our financial management, reporting, and compliance functions, whilst being part of our mission to advance the global energy transition. This role requires a deep understanding of UK accounting standards and nonprofit financial management, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, international environment.The roleIn the position, you will play a vital role in managing our financial operations to ensure the organisation's long-term stability and impact. You will be responsible for the following on an interim basis:Month-end closing and payment processesGrant reportingInternal grant allocationCash flow managementTreasuryCompliance with regulatory requirementsBudgeting and budget controlKey responsibilitiesFinancial Management: cash flow oversight, managing accounting, payment and treasury functions, ensuring financial accuracyReporting: preparing financial statements, management reports, grant reports, and compliance documents, working with our external bookkeeperCompliance: ensuring adherence to laws and standardsCollaboration: supporting other departments with team-based budgets and aligning with organisational goals.Please note we are working to a tight timeline for this role.
