About The Role:The Head of Transaction Monitoring is responsible for defining, owning, and continuously evolving Enfuce’s transaction monitoring and screening capabilities across fraud and financial crime.Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, this role operates as a first line of defence (1LOD) leader, ensuring that transaction monitoring (fraud & AML) and PEP/sanctions screening are executed effectively, at scale, and in line with Enfuce’s risk appetite and regulatory obligations.The role leads a hybrid team structure, including a Fraud Team Lead with a dedicated team, as well as AML analysts reporting directly, and is accountable for evolving the team structure over time to support Enfuce’s growth. S/he plays a key role in building a scalable, future-proof monitoring function, ensuring strong detection capabilities, operational efficiency, and regulatory alignment.Working closely with key stakeholders in Oversight (1LOD), Risk & Compliance (2LOD) and Product, S/he ensures that monitoring and screening capabilities remain robust, scalable, and aligned with evolving regulatory expectations and threat landscapes.What You'll Be Doing:Team Leadership, Org Design & Capacity Planning:Lead a hybrid monitoring organisation, including a Fraud Team Lead with a dedicated team and AML analysts reporting directly.Define and evolve the organisational structure across fraud monitoring, AML monitoring, and screening to support scale, efficiency, and specialisation.Own hiring strategy and execution for the monitoring function, partnering with People and leadership to attract and build a high-performing team.Own capacity planning and workforce management, aligning team size and capabilities with transaction volumes, alert forecasts, and company growth objectives.Ensure clear accountability, role clarity, and effective ways of working across teams.Transaction Monitoring Ownership (Fraud & AML)Own and continuously improve transaction monitoring frameworks across fraud and AML, ensuring effective detection of suspicious and fraudulent activity.Oversee alert generation, investigation, and discounting processes, ensuring quality, consistency, and timeliness.Ensure monitoring operations scale in line with transaction volumes, customer growth, and new product launches.Screening (PEP & Sanctions) Ownership:Own the operational execution of PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening processes across onboarding and ongoing monitoring.Ensure screening processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with regulatory and partner expectations.Drive continuous improvement in screening tooling, workflows, and data quality.Detection Capability & Rules Optimisation:Lead the optimisation of monitoring rules, scenarios, and models to improve detection effectiveness while managing false positives.Ensure frameworks evolve in response to emerging risks, regulatory changes, and partner requirements.Collaborate with Product, Data, and Risk & Compliance to enhance monitoring capabilities, including the use of automation and advanced analytics.KPIs, KRIs & Operational Performance:Define, implement, and own KPIs and KRIs for monitoring and screening operations (e.g. alert volumes, SLAs, quality, detection rates)Provide clear reporting on operational performance, risks, and control effectiveness.Monitor performance, identify trends, and drive data-driven improvements.Governance, Reporting & Escalation:Prepare and contribute to governance forums, committees, and Board reporting related to fraud, AML monitoring, and screening.Ensure decisions are well-documented and aligned with internal policies and regulatory expectations.Act as a senior escalation and decision point for complex, high-risk, or sensitive cases.Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:Drive efficiency and scalability in monitoring operations through process improvements, automation, and tooling enhancements.Build a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous learning within the team.Ensure strong quality assurance frameworks and continuous improvement of investigation standards.What you’ll bring:8+ years of experience in financial crime, fraud prevention, or transaction monitoring within payments, fintech, or regulated financial services.Strong knowledge of AML transaction monitoring, fraud detection, sanctions and PEP screening frameworks.Good understanding of regulatory expectations related to financial crime monitoring and reporting.Experience optimising monitoring rules, reducing false positives, and improving detection effectiveness.Experience working with monitoring and screening tools, data, and analytics.Experience defining and managing KPIs/KRIs and operational performance frameworks.Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with Compliance (2LOD), Risk, and Product teams.Proven experience building, structuring, and scaling financial crime or fraud monitoring teams, including defining org design and operating models.Experience lead
