Accounts Payable Accountant

**Job Summary** We are seeking a detail\-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices while maintaining compliance with financial policies and procedures. Your expertise will support smooth financial operations, uphold accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and contribute to the overall health of our organization’s financial management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced accounting software and collaborate across departments to streamline processes and optimize financial accuracy. **Responsibilities** * Process and review vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests using accounting software such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks * Reconcile accounts payable ledger entries regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness * Prepare and process payments via Paychex, ADP, or other payroll management systems in accordance with company policies * Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including journal entries, debits \& credits, and account reconciliations * Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements during all accounts payable activities * Collaborate with procurement, finance, and human resources teams to resolve invoice discrepancies or payment issues * Assist with month\-end closing procedures related to accounts payable and general ledger reconciliation * Support process improvements by leveraging accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, or UltiPro for increased efficiency **Qualifications** * Proven experience in accounts payable functions within a corporate or public accounting environment * Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and double entry bookkeeping practices * Familiarity with financial software including Workday, QuickBooks, Quicken, SAP, or similar platforms * Knowledge of payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex is highly desirable * Experience with account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger accounting * Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred * Ability to analyze financial data critically and communicate findings effectively * Prior exposure to SOX compliance standards and internal controls in a finance setting is a plus Join us to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in financial management!
