QA Lead (trading platform)

EMCD is building and scaling its own trading platform, and we're looking for a Senior QA Engineer with strong trading domain experience to take ownership of product quality across the platform.This role is ideal for someone who wants to stay hands-on, influence QA strategy, and gradually grow into a leadership position with a small team of 2 QA engineers.ResponsibilitiesOwn and improve end-to-end QA processes across the exchange platformDrive QA for the trading core, including matching, risk, spot, derivatives, custody, gateways, and market dataDefine release quality gates, test coverage expectations, regression scope, and acceptance criteriaDevelop testing approaches for trading scenarios: order lifecycle, balance consistency, margin, liquidations, ADL, funding, and PnLOwn performance and stress testing processes: latency, throughput, stability, and regression trackingOrganize contract and end-to-end testing between distributed servicesImprove test environments, test data, simulators, and staging reliabilityParticipate in incident reviews from a QA perspective and help prevent recurring production issuesContribute to QA standards and help shape the future QA setup of the teamRequirements5+ years of experience in QA and mandatory experience in trading, exchange, or brokerageStrong understanding of trading concepts: orders, order book, margin, balances, PnL, liquidations, funding, and market dataExperience building or significantly improving test automation: frameworks, CI integration, reporting, and test dataStrong understanding of distributed systems testing: contract testing, idempotency, race conditions, eventual consistency, fault tolerance, and chaos testingHands-on experience with performance and load testing using tools such as k6, Gatling, JMeter, or custom generatorsAbility to work closely with engineering: review specifications, challenge design decisions, and define test strategy earlyNice to HaveExperience with a crypto exchange, CEX, custody, or market-making infrastructureExperience with property-based or fuzz testing toolsSecurity testing experience or participation in pentest processes for financial systemsWhat We Offer:Fully remote work from anywhere in the worldFlexible working hours focused on results28 calendar days of vacation + 12 additional bonus daysPaid sick leave with no bureaucracyCompensation for courses, certifications, and training programsReal ownership of one of the most critical parts of the exchange infrastructureOriginally posted on Himalayas
