Business Development RepresentativeVirtual Peaker is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) that will help solve the climate crisis by supporting our mission of building the utility of the future. Job DescriptionAs the BDR you will be responsible for engaging with prospects to qualify potential customers for our Account Executive team. This position is ideal for someone looking to enter a business development or sales role at a rapidly growing B2B startup doing big things.Role ResponsibilitiesDevelop a working knowledge of the utility industry, including DERs, DERMS, demand response, and decarbonizationResearch and identify organizations that align with Virtual Peaker’s ideal customer profilePlan, execute, and iterate on multi-channel outbound campaignsEngage and qualify inbound leads and outbound prospectsEffectively partner and work across the Sales and Marketing teamsSupport Marketing events through outreach and attendanceMaintain accurate and up-to-date records within CRM and adjacent tools Other duties as assigned that contribute to Virtual Peaker’s successQualificationsAn ideal candidate will have some combination of the following:Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required2+ years of sales/business development experience preferredKey Knowledge & SkillsBusiness-to-business communication and prospecting skillsActive listening and relationship building abilitiesResearch, organizational, and time-management skills Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google WorkspaceExperience using and maintaining a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systemBasic understanding of Software as a Service (SaaS)Core CompetenciesDesire to build a long-term career in technology salesCoachability, accountability, and a growth mindsetCuriosity, creativity, and a passion for learningConsultative approach to relationship building Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skillsWhat to expectFully remote position with remote-work stipend.Competitive salary + EquityA collaborative workplace, which will challenge you and celebrate your workComprehensive medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefitsGenerous vacation, sick leave, and company holidaysDiverse and inclusive community for everyoneInterested?Virtual Peaker is currently a small remote-first team tackling huge problems, and that means that everyone, from the interns on up, are critically important to our mission.
