Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Regulatory Permit Compliance Specialist - Environmental for one of our offices in Sacramento, CA.or Fresno, CA. This opportunity can be remote but within the state of California. JOB SUMMARYThis role conducts environmental compliance audits in active construction areas, including reviewing reports, permits, and regulatory documents. Prepares audit findings and coordinates with technical teams to ensure environmental commitments are met. Works closely with an interdisciplinary compliance team.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProvide oversight and management of compliance with the Authority’s environmental commitmentsEvaluate high-speed rail for conformance to federal, state, and local regulatory standardsAct independently and as part of a multi-discipline compliance team to ascertain compliance and recommend appropriate action to ensure compliance or return to complianceAssist with the development of findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to ensure continued compliance and address compliance deficienciesProvide technical assistance to ensure continued permit compliance and address noncomplianceCoordinate the development of written proceduresMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, biology, or related field and 5-7 years of relevant experienceFamiliarity with state and federal environmental laws and regulations (e.g., National Environmental Policy Act [NEPA], California Environmental Quality Act [CEQA], Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 7 of the federal Endangered Species Act, Section 2081 of the California Endangered Species Act, and Section 1600 of the California Fish and Game Code) Familiarity with ISO 14001 environmental management systems, or other environmental management certificationsStrong knowledge of environmental permitting processes, regulations and laws (e.g., federal and California endangered species acts, Clean Water Act, NEPA/CEQA, Clean Air Act)Ability to successfully manage multiple competing prioritiesExperience with design-build contracting and construction processesExperience with linear infrastructure projectsExperience working on large, complex programs and projectsStrong technical reading, writing, and reporting experienceAdvanced degree in biology, environmental science, civil/environmental engineering, or related scienceCertified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), ISO 14001 lead auditor training, or other environmental management certificationSome travel may be requiredSponsorship is not provided for this role now or in the futureAbout AECOMAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
