Senior Advisor - Future Finance

In proud partnership, SCC LLC is excited to deliver jobs at Rio Tinto Mongolia and its Mongolia Business Services & Support Centre.Purpose of the RoleFuture Finance supports the delivery of Rio Tinto's Finance Strategy by improving finance processes, systems and ways of working. The role focuses on identifying improvement opportunities, solving business issues, and delivering sustainable changes that improve efficiency, data quality and decision-making.Contract length: 6 + 6 monthsKey Responsibilities Support the stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement of core Finance platforms, including consolidation, close, tax, planning, and reporting solutions Analyze Finance system issues, defects, and enhancement opportunities, working with product teams to prioritize and deliver improvements Drive the standardization and simplification of Finance processes, controls, and reporting practices across regions and business units Analyze business and process requirements and translate them into practical Finance system and process improvements Support data quality initiatives and the implementation of one source of truth principles across Finance systems Collaborate with global Finance and IS&T teams within Agile and Lean ways of working to deliver continuous improvement initiatives Use Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage work items, track progress, and maintain visibility of priorities, delivery status, and blockers Develop and maintain clear documentation of Finance processes, roles, responsibilities, and system changes Engage with global stakeholders across different regions and time zones to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions Support reporting cycles and project initiatives through accurate analysis, documentation, and process insights Contribute to knowledge-sharing activities, playbooks, guidance materials, and onboarding for new processes, systems, and ways of working Identify opportunities to improve Finance efficiency, insight, and decision-making through better processes, systems, data, and ways of working Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Engineering or Commercial disciplines. 10+ years' experience in Finance, Accounting, Finance Systems or Finance Transformation roles. Previous experience in Consolidation and planning tools highly desirable. Broad business process understanding with knowledge of impacts of business decisions and changes. Strong analytical capability with attention to detail and comfort working with financial data. Understanding of end‑to‑end finance processes (record‑to‑report, consolidation, tax, planning or reporting). Strong business engagement/stakeholder management expertise. Ability to work effectively in a global, virtual team environment. Curious and improvement‑focused mindset, aligned to continuous improvement principles. Clear communicator, able to explain issues and insights to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Comfortable working through ambiguity and change in a transformation environment.
