The role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration across design and construction teams by identifying and resolving design conflicts and maintaining organized project documentation.Working under the direction of senior detailers and VDC leads, the Detailer II builds constructible models and prefabrication-ready spool drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. This is a fully remote role with regular collaboration across distributed VDC and project teams.Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop 3D BIM models of plumbing and mechanical piping systems using Revit MEP and/or AutoCAD Fabrication (CADmep)Produce accurate spool drawings, shop drawings, and prefabrication data directly from the model for use by field and fab-shop crewsCoordinate plumbing and piping systems with structural, architectural, and other MEP trades to identify and resolve conflictsRun and resolve clash detection using Navisworks under the direction of senior detailers and VDC leadsIncorporate submittal data, including pipe specs, fittings, valves, and fixtures, into BIM models accurately, and generate material lists and cut sheets from the modelMaintain model integrity, naming standards, and level of development requirements throughout the project lifecycleProvide support on construction projects including receiving, logging, tracking, expediting, and distributing shop drawings, RFIs, and other project documentationUpdate models to reflect design changes, RFI responses, and field revisions, and distribute revised files to the project teamFollow direction from senior detailers and apply established VDC and detailing workflows and standardsRequired Background2 + years of relevant BIM detailing experience in plumbing and/or mechanical piping systemsHigh School diploma or GED required; degree or trade apprenticeship in a related technical field preferredProficiency in Revit MEP and/or AutoCAD Fabrication (CADmep)Working knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection and multi-trade coordinationUnderstanding of commercial plumbing and mechanical piping systems and field installation methodsAbility to read and interpret construction documents, plumbing and mechanical plans, and specificationsStrong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions and established standardsAbility to coordinate effectively with other trades and communicate modeling and installation requirements clearlyProactive, organized, and able to manage multiple project tasks in a fully remote settingAuthorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this positionPrior experience at a commercial mechanical or plumbing subcontractor (Preferred)Hospital, data center, or life sciences project experience (Preferred)Fabrication shop or field plumbing/piping experience (Preferred)Bilingual English and Spanish (Preferred)Compensation & PerksCompetitive salary based on experience401(k) plan with company match Medical, dental, and vision insurance Annual bonus program based on performance, achievement, and company profitability Term life, AD&D, and voluntary life insurance Disability income protection insurance Pre-tax flexible spending plans (health and dependent care) Paid parental leave Paid holidays, vacation, and personal time Training and professional development opportunities Company-paid memberships for professional associations and licenses Fully remote work – work from anywhere in the U.S. Path for advancement into senior VDC and leadership rolesOriginally posted on Himalayas
