Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Legislative Policy Administrator and staff, the intern supports the legislative team on state, local, federal and tribal government relations matters, while also providing minor support to the Public Information Officer (PIO) at the Arizona State Land Department. Core responsibilities include assisting with administrative tasks, scheduling stakeholder meetings, and drafting correspondence for department inquiries. The intern will actively support the agency by researching policy issues, tracking bills, drafting summaries, and attending hearings, providing an invaluable firsthand look at the legislative process.
Interns are hired on a temporary basis and are typically part\-time (under 20 hours weekly). This position offers schedule flexibility when the Legislature is not in session (July 1 to January 10\), but requires set, pre\-approved hours during the legislative session (January 11 to June 30\).
