As a Quantum Computer Scientist, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that meet the needs of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s large-scale conversion for a suite of Java applications from local servers to AWS servers. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACTAs a Quantum Computer Scientist, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. You will play a crucial role inHelp design, develop, evaluate, plan, and test engineering specifications for software programs and applicationsHelp set up local workspace with Spring Tool Suite and cloned code repositories to be able to apply changes using BitBucket as version control (CI/CD pipelines)Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new featuresDesign and develop cloud-based applications using Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) technologies, Python, and other program languagesRemove old Struts Framework Code and Tag Libraries from Java and JSP filesUpdate Project Object Model (POM) files and XML configuration files to bring dependencies up to the necessary new versionRun Maven commands for building and testing new codesEnsure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applicationsConsult business process owners to evaluate process improvement opportunities and potential technology solutionsWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEEDBring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
