**Position Summary**
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting operations through accurate financial reporting, account reconciliations, month\-end close activities, and financial analysis. This role serves as a key contributor to the integrity of the company's financial records and helps ensure accounting processes are efficient, well\-documented, and scalable as the business grows.
Working closely with the Finance Director, Bookkeeper, and external accounting partners, the Senior Accountant performs hands\-on accounting work while helping strengthen internal controls, improve processes, and maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position offers a growth path within the Finance Department. High\-performing individuals may have the opportunity to assume increased responsibility and advance into Accounting Manager, Controller, or other finance leadership positions as the organization continues to grow.
**The role includes:**
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
* Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, prepaid schedules, fixed asset schedules, and other accounting entries as required.
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are accurately supported and reconciled on a timely basis.
* Support the month\-end and year\-end close processes, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
* Review general ledger transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding.
* Work closely with the company's Bookkeeper to review accounting transactions, supporting documentation, and routine accounting workflows.
