Senior Accountant

**Child Care Resources – Richmond, VA** **Hybrid (Up to 1 Remote Day per Week)** Child Care Resources is a growing national nonprofit administering approximately **$25 million annually** across multiple states. We're seeking an experienced **Senior Accountant** to lead our accounting operations and work directly with the CEO on budgeting, financial planning, and organizational growth. Responsibilities * Manage full\-cycle accounting in QuickBooks. * Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor payments, customer billing, and reconciliations. * Develop and maintain organizational, state, and grant budgets with the CEO. * Review and update monthly cost allocation methodologies. * Train and supervise the Bookkeeper, ensuring accurate entries, organized documentation, and compliance with company policies. * Maintain accurate financial records, error logs, and supporting documentation. * Prepare for multiple annual audits, grant reviews, and financial monitoring visits. * Analyze financial data, troubleshoot issues, and recommend process improvements. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. * 5\+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment. * Advanced QuickBooks expertise. * Experience managing multiple funding sources, budgets, and financial reporting. * Strong Excel skills and attention to detail. * Ability to see the big picture while maintaining accurate day\-to\-day financial operations. * CPA or nonprofit grant accounting experience is a plus.
