**Description**
SAIC has an opening for a **Paint Shop Technician** in **Indianapolis, IN.**
**JOB DUTIES:**
* Perform sanding, blending, shaping, cleaning, masking, and other tasking related to the preparation and completion of industrial parts for military coating finishes.
* Work with basic measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers daily.
* Working as a team and individually towards a common goal with clear communication efforts.
* Follow standard and common shop processes to perform work tasking but also be able to 'adapt and overcome' when appropriate.
* Follow ISO9000 and AS9100 standard processes and procedures.
* Job tracking, data entry, and paperwork as deemed necessary.
* Project scheduling and demands are fluid thus tasking may deviate when necessary.
* Follow corporate and local office policies and procedures including but not limited to; daily timecard recording and Email checks.
**WORK WEEK:**
* Monday\-Friday, 40 hour week, 8 hours per day.
**Qualifications**
**EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:**
* HS/GED and 2 years of experience or Bachelor's degree and zero (0\).
**BASIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGMENT REQUIRMENTS:**
* Previous experience performing sanding, blending, cleaning, masking, or other tasking related to the preparation and completion of industrial parts for paint finishes.
* Experience as a technician working in a manufacturing/industrial/shop environment is also accepted.
* Experience with measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
* Basic computer skills are a must (Logging in, Email, Timecard entry, Job tracking, etc.).
**CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:**
* U.S. citizenship required.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance; New Hire employee will be required to submit background information necessary for security clearance evaluation.
