Job Description
**Video Editor \- YouTube Content (Remote)**
We run a YouTube channel in the test preparation course review space: review\-style content with an on\-camera host, real affiliate partnerships, and a growing audience. We are looking for a long\-term editing partner to own post\-production end to end. This isn't a one\-off gig, we want someone who grows with us.
**This role is specifically for on\-camera presenter content.** Every video features a host talking directly to camera, intercut with B\-roll, screen recordings, and graphics. If your portfolio is mostly faceless, voiceover, or motion graphics work, this isn't the right fit. Applications without a link to a current editing portfolio, YouTube channel portfolio, or video reel will not be considered.
**What you'll be editing**
Review, best list, and comparison videos, 5–10 minutes long, covering education courses, test preparation and language platforms. Think structured, informative, and engaging \- the kind of content that holds a viewer through a full product comparison without losing them halfway.
You'll source some B\-roll yourself. We'll provide raw footage, some existing B\-roll, brand context, and platform logins, but you should be comfortable navigating an app or course site to find and capture the right screen moments.
**What the role includes**
* Edit and deliver 3 long form videos a week (12 videos per month)
* Create 1 thumbnail for every video
* For each of the 12 videos, extract and format one sub 60\-second short for YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram
* Add captions, text overlays, and end screens
**What we're looking for**
A strong portfolio of **on\-camera presenter content** — product review, comparison, or educational format. Faceless or voiceover\-only channels aren't the right fit for what we make. We want to see that you've edited for real channels consistently over a few months, not one\-off projects.
Beyond technical skills, we're looking for someone who thinks about *retention* — who understands that a great edit isn't just clean cuts and nice graphics, it's keeping someone watching through minute 4 of a product comparison. If you describe your work as "storytelling" or "retention editing," we probably want to talk.
A strong preference is to work with one individual editor who owns the work end to end – we're not looking to coordinate across multiple people. Will consider a small agency on a case by case basis.
**Requirements**
* Strong understanding of YouTube retention editing: pacing, hooks, keeping viewers through a full 5–10 minute video
* Ability to independently source B\-roll and screen recordings from web platforms and apps (logins provided)
* Expertise editing on\-camera presenter content
* Thumbnail design eye
* Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, and CapCut or Opus Clip for short\-form extraction
* Reliable async communicator, English fluent, US delivery schedule (Mon–Fri)
* Comfortable with async feedback and revision rounds via Frame.io
