As a member of our engineering team, you will play a key role in processing and managing commercial services, ultimately helping to positively impact patient outcomes. Join us in our mission to change the way disease is managed, and be a part of a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a difference.Software Engineer III - Commercial Services is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of microservices that handle sales order processing and management. The role requires strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, working with GraphQL APIs and event-driven architectures in a rapidly changing environment and the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and systems.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in design and technical implementation decisions and help guide key stakeholders on the team to ensure that design and technical decisions meet a high standard of excellence and ensure robust order processing capabilitiesWork closely with Product Managers to gather requirements, walk through the design with stakeholders, and support software all the way from initial ideation to release, operation, and maintenanceParticipate in designing, building, and maintaining highly available systems to support our business applications, order processing, and integration with other servicesSupport QA activities in conjunction with our QA engineering teamsQUALIFICATIONS:5+ years of overall software development experience, with focus on building secure, scalable backend services using Java and Spring BootStrong experience with event-driven architecture and message processing using Apache KafkaExperience with software development lifecycle processes including building, software configuration, releases and deployment activitiesExtensive knowledge and experience with Test-Driven Development and/or Domain-Driven DevelopmentExperience with service-oriented and microservice architectureExperience building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and expanding software within the AWS ecosystem: EC2, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, S3, etcExperience with GraphQL API design and implementation in JavaStrong relational database skills including database design and optimizationStrong AI and tooling skillsDemonstrated teamwork skills with a solid analytical backgroundExcellent organizational, communication, presentation, and facilitation skillsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Java Programming with Spring Boot expertiseSQL and NoSQL database experience including MySQL and ElasticSearchAWS Services, such as EC2, Lambdas, Step Functions, SQS, S3, and SNSBuild infrastructure as code with Terraform and Cloud FormationDocker or container-oriented technologiesGraphQL API development using JavaApache Kafka for event streamingMicroservice ArchitectureCI / CD (Gitlab)Quality Assurance MindsetExperience with testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, JestFamiliarity with Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, etc.)Claude/Cursor/Codex etcThe pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
