In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make meaningful impact in a collaborative environment and apply your technical expertise to build and scale our highly available distributed SaaS platform used by millions of K-12 students every month worldwide.In this role as a Dev Ops Engineer II, you will:Contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives using CloudFormation and TerraformDevelop and maintain data pipelinesDesign, build, and maintain containerized applicationsBuild and improve developer tooling to enhance team productivityWork with event-driven systems like Kafka or KinesisExplore and integrate AI tooling into platform workflowsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve infrastructure and platform needsParticipate in the on-call rotation to ensure prompt resoultion of any customer-facing incidentsSupport CI/CD pipelines which ensure the prompt release of high quality softwareFor this role as a Dev Ops Engineer II, you must have:4 years of experience in software developmentHands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructureExperience building or working with containerized applicationsFamiliarity with data pipeline development and maintenanceWorking knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation and TerraformExperience with developer tooling and automationStrong knowledge of a scripting language such as Python, shell, etcInterest in or experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)Strong self-starter mentality with demonstrated experience tackling open-ended challenges and rapidly ramping up on new systemsComfortable with uncertainty; able to independently define approach, identify dependencies, and drive work to completion without detailed specificationsBonus Points:BS in Information Systems or Computer Science, related field experience, or bothExperience with AI tooling and integrationInterest or experience in functional programming languages such as Haskell, Scala, Clojure, etcExperience writing deployment pipelines using GitHub ActionsExperience with logging and reporting systems (Datadog, New Relic, etc)Outstanding written and verbal communication skillsGrowth mindset with eagerness to learn new technologies, tools, and platforms as neededAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
