Senior Technical Data Analyst

The Senior Technical Data Analyst collaborates with technical staff, business data analysts and subject-matter experts to evaluate, assess and catalog data to be used in support of high-trust, scalable Enterprise data analytics solutions. This role contributes to ensuring the Global Data Warehouse is the trusted source of integrated Enterprise data by ensuring data assets are of high integrity, quality and are well-defined.Examine various source systems to evaluate data assets, asses their strategic value and determine their integrity Perform data analysis including sampling, modeling, profiling, and evaluation of statistical metrics to develop an understanding of data attributes and subject areas Collaborate with Business and Technical Data Stewards and Owners to understand relevant processes to generate metadata Research and assess data quality, data lineage and data completeness for critical Enterprise/Master dataDocument opportunities and risks and collaborates to determine recommendations to address issues Create and maintain the business glossary for specific subject areas, and teach others how to leverage the glossary to enable self-service data discovery Recommend appropriate data sources for specific use cases and consults with architects and engineers to develop solutions that ensure the re-usability of business logic and data streams Foster the cross-functional collaboration required to leverage data as a strategic asset to enable self-service analytics (i.e.; insight generation, dashboards), advanced analytics (i.e.; predictive and prescriptive modeling), corporate performance management, and digital transformationEnsure technical metadata and business glossary meets data protection, data privacy and data quality standardsCollaborate within an agile, multi-disciplinary team of data architects, data analysts, data engineers, BI developers and scrum master to enable access to data supporting various analytics solutionsJob Specifications Typically has the following skills or abilities: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Analytics etc., or equivalent experience 4+ years performing data analysis across legacy, cloud and package applications using data analysis toolsets 4+ years’ experience working with analytical capabilities including knowledge about various analytical architectures, patterns and methods, analytics applications (Cognos, Power BI, Tableau), and Data warehouse platforms (Netezza, Teradata, Redshift, Snowflake etc.)4+ years’ experience creating detailed technical specifications, metadata and release documentation Experience using SQL to perform data analysis. Must have experience working with granular raw data from operational systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to gather requirements and effectively communicate technical concepts and ideasCompensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets.Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
