**Introduction**

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Medicaid Services (DMS) is recruiting to fill a Policy Analyst within the Bureau of Benefits Policy (BBP).
This position has the ability to work remotely up to 5 days per week but may be required to report to an office location on occasion to complete certain tasks. This position can be headquartered at one of our central or regional offices. This schedule may vary based on training or operational need.

**Position Summary**

As a Policy Analyst, you will work within a team and each analyst is assigned lead responsibility for specific benefit areas, such as vision, physician, home care services, nursing, or dental benefits. You will be responsible for:
* the ongoing management and the long\-term development of assigned benefit areas.
* ongoing activities including drafting communications to healthcare providers to announce policy changes, working with technical staff to ensure accurate payment of healthcare providers, meeting with provider associations on behalf of the Department, and researching and responding to coverage and reimbursement questions from external partners.
* long\-term activities including analyzing proposed changes to coverage and reimbursement policies, developing alternative health care delivery models, and proposing budget initiatives to improve the cost\-effectiveness and quality of assigned benefit areas.
You will need strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, advanced oral and written communication skills, and the use of policy analysis techniques to complete a variety of analysis, research, development, and implementation activities.
