Role Summary:We are looking for a Senior Accountant to support our Senior Staff Accountant, Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and other leaders with general accounting tasks and projects. You will work closely with the team to ensure everyone is cross-trained for the most accurate and efficient work flow. You will also partner with our Controller to prepare the month-end reporting and the year-end audit. What you’ll do: Financial Reporting & Month-End CloseAssist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processPrepare and record journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expensesPerform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accountsConduct detailed P&L reviews for: coding, department, and location accuracyReview financial results and provide variance explanationsEnsure accuracy and completeness of financial dataAssist with annual audit and with special projects as neededRevenue & Accounts ReceivableCollaborate with Revenue Operations to process customer billing through CampfireMaintain the Accounts Receivable and Cash Sheet on a daily basisMonitor accounts daily to identify, document, and resolve collection issuesMonitor the AR Inbox for billing inquiries and customer-related issuesSupport accurate billing and cash application processesOwn the sales tax process: approve sales tax returns in Avalara, monitor states with nexus, monitor ongoing sales tax requirementsPayroll AdministrationPayroll compliance & act as backup for payroll processingRegister with new states as an employer, and complete all compliance & regulatory tasks related to state agenciesReview payroll entries in Campfire for accuracyInternal Controls & CollaborationNurture positive and collaborative working relationships within the finance team and broader organization.Maintain a deep familiarity with accounting and internal control processes to mitigate risk.Become familiar with, create and document new accounting and control processesMonitor and maintain internal policies for travel & expense as well as purchasing and the approval matrixSkills you’ll need: Undergraduate degree in Accounting or equivalent experience5+ years of Accounting experience (startup/scaleup a plus!)Strong attention to detail Excellent communication skillsSaaS revenue recognition ASC606Full Cycle Sales Tax experience (from registering with nexus states to filing)Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, NetSuite, Maxio and/or other ERP and accounting software (Campfire experience a plus!)For high cost of living areas, the expected salary range for this position is $125,000 - $165,000, plus bonus eligibility and equity. For all other locations, the expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $154,000, plus bonus eligibility and equity.
