Temporary Billing Assistant

**Job Summary** We are a growing mental health practice seeking an experienced and detail\-oriented **Temporary Billing Assistant** to support our administrative team during a transition period while we hire an Office Manager. This is a fully virtual position that will work collaboratively with our existing administrative staff and leadership team. The ideal candidate has prior experience with behavioral health billing, is comfortable working independently in a remote environment, and has hands\-on experience using **SimplePractice**. We are open to a temporary contract or part\-time employment, but prior experience is required to start in this role. **Responsibilities** * Manage insurance and client billing through SimplePractice * Process invoices and monitor outstanding balances * Handle accounts receivable and collections follow\-up * Review and resolve billing discrepancies and claim issues * Communicate professionally with clients regarding balances and payment arrangements * Support administrative workflows related to billing and payment processing * Collaborate with the administrative team to improve billing efficiency and organization * Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all communications and documentation **Requirements** * Previous experience in medical or mental health billing required * Experience using SimplePractice strongly preferred * Knowledge of insurance claims, invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections processes * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Ability to work independently in a remote setting * Professional communication skills and strong follow\-through * Experience in a mental health or healthcare practice preferred We are looking for someone who can step in quickly, provide dependable support, and work collaboratively with a compassionate and professional team during a period of growth and transition.
