We support small businesses with services ranging from QuickBooks cleanup to full‑charge bookkeeping, payroll support, and financial reporting. As our client base grows, we’re seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented **Assistant Bookkeeper** to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. **In‑depth knowledge of QuickBooks Online is required**, as it is the primary platform used by our clients. **Sales tax knowledge is preferred.** **Responsibilities** * Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks and accurate data entry * Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes * Perform bank and credit card reconciliations * Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks Online * Prepare basic financial reports and summaries * Organize digital documents and maintain internal filing systems * Communicate professionally with clients via email or messaging platforms * Uphold confidentiality and compliance standards **Qualifications** * **In‑depth knowledge of QuickBooks Online (required)** * Understanding of sales tax processes (preferred) * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Excellent written communication skills * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively * Prior bookkeeping or administrative experience is a plus * Willingness to grow into a larger role as the firm expands **Schedule \& Hours** * Contract position * Starting at **6–10 hours per week** * Flexible scheduling * Opportunity for increased hours and responsibilities over time **Compensation** * Hourly rate based on experience * Additional opportunities for growth as responsibilities expand Pay: $17\.00 \- $20\.00 per hour Work Location: Remote
